Takara Jenny started off as Barbie dolls that are produced for the Japanese market thorugh the alliance of Takara and Mattel from 1982 to 1985.

In 1985, there was a licensing disagreement between the two companies. Thus, Takara begin to market the Takara Barbie as Jenny.

Jenny like her history, is unique in many ways. At present, she is dressed is many ethnic cultures, presented in different bodies, different faces, and best of all, she has many pretty friends to accompany her.
