Barbie was invented by Ruth Handler, the co-founder of Mattel Toys when she watched her daughter played with paper dolls. Then, she had an idea of making a 3D Doll so that children can be able to imagine grown-up roles of themselves. So in 1959, Barbie was invented and sold around the world.

However, another history tells of how Barbie was actually inspired by a German Doll named Lilli. Lilli was invented by a German toymaker by the name of Rolf Hausser. Lilli was invented in 1954.

Whatever the true Barbie story is, this doll was loved and cherished by many people from different generations.
